Sun Star Restaurant 631 BC-7, Coquitlam, BC V3K 3S5 #TasteOfTricities #CanadianChineseFood Update June, 2025 We also tried the Spicy Chicken Wings Sweet and Sour Pork House Special Fried Rice All tasty and delicious We came here to try their Honeymoon Fried Rice Taste of TriCities special for 16.94 (12-6pm) Haven’t been to a Canadian Chinese Food place in ages.. they are located right beside the Ramada Inn right off Lougheed Highway. Just here for the food and not the decor. The menu is huge with Canadian food in the front and Chinese food in the back along with the combos. Apparently, they are famous for their western breakfasts. We ordered: Trust-cities special - Honeymoon Fried Rice Satay Beef Crispy Noodles. We appreciated the chef’s attempt to make the Yin/Yan curve for the Honeymoon Fried Rice. The dish is super saucy with the cream sauce with the shrimp side and tomato sauce with the chicken over fried rice. The Satay Beef was super tasty and saucy, filled with veggies. The crispy noodles unfortunately was not as crispy as it soaked up most of the sauce.. next time we will ask for the noodles crispy on the side and pour our own sauce in. The food for 2 was quite a hefty portion. We don’t mind all the sauce in the noodles and the rice. The wait staff is fast, efficient and friendly and the restaurant is 90% pack at 5pm with phone in orders and constant turnover of customers. Our server, May, was super friendly, she even asked if we enjoyed our food. They serve Canadian style breakfast and their Sun Star Breakfast is also on special during Taste of Tri-Cities.
My dinner tonight was delicious. The chicken chow mein was not greasy and had lots of chicken in it and very tasty. The dry pork was very good and not over powered with garlic . A really good batter , crispy and the pork was tender . Big serving - I brought half home . All the combos A B or C are a great value as well. Didn’t have to wait very long for order. Everyone was very friendly.
This place always has good food. Definitely will compete with wherever you've been going. All the non-asian dishes. It's not just filler. It's actually good food as well. Highly recommended been coming here for years
I love the food here. Not trying to be sterotypical but as an asian, I have had many different type of dishes throughout my life. Absolute banger of chinese food! Order some fried chicken with spicy salt/ beef with kailan/ shrimp fried rice. Thank me later

Booked a reservation here for 10 at 8pm. Service was great and the server was a great helping us figured out what to order for our group. We ordered a combo B for 8 ppl and some extra dishes. The food was amazing ! Really loved the fried rice, ginger beef, green beans, and fried squid ! I also love that they have seasoning at every table. I am a sucker for their hot sauce. We noticed that they had an extra room with a bar , tables, and a karaoke system. Looks like a great place to book an event/ gathering. Would definitely come back here again for some comfort canadian chinese food. I'm also interested in trying their breakfast in the near future :)
Incredibly fast service with some of the best Chinese food I have had!! The portion sizes were giant, leaving us with tons to bring home. Spent around 70 for two people, but worth the price!!!
